LaCrosse Lumber President Charlie Meyer and Vice President Kevin Keely recently donated $10,000 to the Twin Pike Family Phase Three Expansion Project to build an indoor aquatics center at the facility in Louisiana.
YMCA Fundraising Committee Chair and Board Member Charlie Perkins and Executive Director Marsha Garrison accepted the contribution from the Louisiana – based company.
“We are extremely grateful to LaCrosse Lumber for making this generous donation to the pool project,” said Perkins. “Our Y continues to make progress towards accomplishing the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation challenge grant. LaCrosse Lumber’s contribution gives us a big push forward toward the finish line.”
The Twin Pike Family YMCA has until July 10, 2013 to achieve the challenge grant, said Perkins, adding that “When we reach this goal, our Y will receive $500,000 from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation. Best of all, the grant dollars will complete the fundraising for the $3.85 million project.”
“All contributions to the Y’s pool project — big and small — are greatly appreciated, said Garrison. “The new pool will be for everyone in the Twin Pike area to use, whether or not they are a member of our YMCA.”
