The John Wood Community College Pittsfield Education Center will host a free computer workshop for high school students March 28 from 9 to 11 a.m.
The workshop is geared toward middle and high school students who are undecided about their future occupation. During this hands-on computer workshop, students will be introduced to various online methods to search for careers.
This process will help students discover education or training requirements, pay ranges for professions, related fields and various opportunities. Students will also search for the top schools which offer degrees or programs for their chosen career.
Classes are limited and early registration is encouraged by calling 217-285-5319.  The JWCC Pittsfield Education Center is located at 1308 West Washington.
The workshop has been made possible by a grant from Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White through the “Eliminate the Digital Divide Program Grant” funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
