Clopton girls go to district final, Louisiana loses

The Clopton Lady Hawks beat a savvy Paris Lady Coyotes team, 69-56, on Wednesday, Feb. 20 in the semifinal round of the Class 2, District 5 Girls Basketball Tournament at Louisiana High School.

The Louisiana Lady Bulldogs lost earlier in the evening to the state number one Silex Lady Owls, 68-34.

That sets up the girls district championship game for Clopton vs. Silex at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22. If the semifinal boys games set for Thursday, Feb. 21 are snowed out, the girls championship game will be played at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 prior to the boys championship game.
