Troop 156 has had exciting year

Boy Scout Troop 156 has had an exciting year.
They have participated in communtiy service projects, such as preparing pizza for the food pantry through the First Christian Church and the upcoming Scouting for Food drive that will be held at the end of March or early April.
The boys have had the joy of seeing two of their friends fulfill the requirements to become Eagle Scouts. Andy Elliott and Mitchell Campbell both received their Eagle badges at the end of the school year last year and moved onto college this year.
The boys did get to enjoy one last summer camp, as the group travelled to Iowa last July to attend camp at Howard H. Cherry Scout camp. Temperatures were hot that week, but that didn’t prevent the boys from enjoying their stay and earning several badges.
One camper, Zac Perrine, even caught the second biggest fish to be caught from the camp fishing area, earning the troop the right to douse the supervising camp counselor with buckets of water.
The troop is currently considering options to go south for camp this year. The cost of summer camps is paid by the boys and their families. The boys have already held one fundraiser for Rada cutlery and plan to hold another fundraiser soon for Club’s Choice items.
Each boy receives a percentage of the profit he raises to be applied toward his scouting expenses, thereby lessening the burden on his family. The rest of the profit goes toward troop expenses, such as transportation to camps, and expenses incurred in local camp-outs.
We are hoping to re-establish the montly campout tradition of year’s past.
