Joanne M. Hill

Funeral services for Mrs. Joanne Marie Hill, 77, of Louisiana, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.  The Rev. Tim Bizelli will officiate.
Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hill passed away on Feb. 1, 2013 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.
She was born on March 8, 1935 in Louisiana, the daughter of George and Grace Dexter Thomas of Louisiana and they preceded her in death.
She was a native of Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana High School.  She was a beautician at Ilas Beauty Shop in Louisiana for four years and then moved to Kansas City, where she worked at Hallmark Cards for five years then returned to Louisiana.
She was employed at the Pike County Hospital for 18 years.  She then managed the Champ Clark Motel for five years until she retired due to poor health.
She was married to Leon Jessie Hill on Aug. 26, 1976 in Hartwell, Ga. and he survives.  Other survivors include her son, John Allen Thomas and wife Gayle of Louisiana; a brother, John Albert Thomas and wife Patty of Payson, Ill.; a sister, Barbara Davidson Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.
Mrs. Hill was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Louisiana where she was the organist.
The family of Joanne wishes to thank everyone for their prayers during her illness and the kind thoughts after her death.  She was a loving kind mother, sister, and friend to all of us who will reunite with her and all of our family members someday in Heaven.
Her memory is our keepsake from which we will never part.  God has her in his keeping and we have her forever in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Allen Thomas, Christopher Allen Thomas, Chris Niffen, Gary Richardson, John Albert Thomas, and Dennis Page.

Richard C. Luebrecht

Richard Clement Luebrecht passed away at Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana on Feb. 2, 2013.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 5, 2013 at the St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating.  Burial was in the St. Clement Cemetery.  Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
He was born 77 years ago on Sept. 25, 1935 in Louisiana to Joseph John (Joe) Luebrecht and Rose Mary (Rose) Grote Luebrecht.
He attended St. Clement School at St. Clement.
Richard was inducted into the United States Air Force (Army) at Fort Leonard  Wood in 1955.  He served time in Alaska and was honorably discharged in September 1957.
On July 8, 1961 he was married by Rev. Severin Lamping to Dolores Ann “Dee” Miller of Bowling Green at the St. Clement Catholic Church.  Dee was the daughter of Arnold and Velma (Gramley) Miller.  Dolores predeceased Richard on May 26, 2005.
To that union a stillborn baby daughter, Jane Ann Luebrecht, was born on Oct. 4, 1962.  She is buried in the St. Clement Cemetery.
Richard is survived by a son, Daryl Richard Luebrecht, who was born Dec. 31, 1968 in Kansas City and his wife Krista Kay (Flowers) Luebrecht and granddaughter, seven year old Kailey who Richard adored and was so proud of.  They live in Bowling Green.
Richard had two brothers and three sisters, all of who are deceased.  Victor Gerald Luebrecht, Paul Aloysious Luebrecht, Veronica Ann Luebrecht Hinghaus (Ferdinand), Irene Mary Luebrecht, Thelma Agnes Luebrecht Sachs (Alfred “Fritz”).
He is survived by two sister-in-laws:  Maureen (Victor) Luebrecht, and Shirley (Paul) Luebrecht and his dearest friend Maza Carnes.
He is also survived by nephews Tom, John, Mark, and Jim Luebrecht, Gary and Richard “Ricky” Sachs, nieces Cathy Luebrecht Dameron (Mike) and Teresa Luebrecht Walsh (Luke).  Nephew Roland Sachs and niece Rose Mary Johns preceded him in death.
Upon Richard’s discharge from the Army, he farmed with his brother Paul until 1964.  At that time he went to work at Sonoco Products in Louisiana where he worked as a head shipper until the company closed down in Louisiana and he took retirement.
He was a very active member of the St. Clement Church, helping with everything that needed to be done.  As well as being an active 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1928.
Rich never shunned hard work and retirement just wasn’t for him.  He had to stay busy all the time.  He enjoyed spending time on the farm where he was always working and he loved cutting firewood, putting in crops and working in his garden.
He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Serving as pallbearers were Mike Dameron, Jim Luebrecht, Mark Luebrecht, Tom Luebrecht, Gary Sachs and Rick Sachs.

Betty L. Graves

A memorial will be held at the Olney Baptist Church, on  Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. for Betty Lou Graves who died  Jan. 27, 2013.
Mrs. Graves was born, Aug. 10, 1928.
She is survived by her sons, Randy of Olney, and Jack (Peggy) of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Casey, Justin, Andrew and Sara; and five great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Graves Jr.;  her mother, Belle McCune Gillum Sanderson; her father, Howard Everett Sanderson; and brother,  Howard McCune Sanderson.
