Farmers’ Market opens May 17

Posted on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 1:36 pm

The Farmers’ Market will make its first appearance at the Louisiana riverfront every Saturday, 8 – 11:30 a.m., beginning May 17. A second market will also be held every Wednesday, 4-6 p.m.
Wednesday markets are free to qualified vendors. A small fee is charged for the Saturday markets. All vendors are encouraged to participate provided the product is grown or made by the vendor. Resale is not allowed. Baked goods must follow Missouri health department standards which include a list of ingredients, baker’s name, address and telephone number. The baker must also indicate that the product was “not prepared in a Missouri health department inspected kitchen”.
The City of Louisiana prohibits the sale of living animals. All vendors are expected to file their own Missouri Sales Taxes and display any license the State of Missouri requires. Failure to abide by Lousiana Farmers’ Market rules may result in exclusion from the market.
Contact market manager Eileen Hoffman at 573-754-3787, after 6:30 p.m., for more information.
