Wildfire chars Hwy. F land
Buffalo Township firefighters attacked a grass fire on Hwy. F and put it out quickly.
Yet another wildfire burned one to two acres on Hwy. F south of Louisiana and east of Bowling Green just after noon today, Wednesday, March 26.
The property owners said a man cutting metal with an acetylene torch caught the grass on fire. No one was injured.
Pike County remains under a burn advisory and will be until things starting getting green. The advisory puts residents on notice that any burn that gets out of control and causes injury or property damage will expose them to liability.
County officials and fire departments are urging residents to not burn or use instruments that produce fire outside until spring winds die down and the advisory is lifted.
