Burris retires with 21 years of service to MoDOT
Terry Burris retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation effective Jan. 1.
Terry had 21 years of service with MoDOT at the time of his retirement.
Terry began his career with MoDOT in July 1992 as a seasonal worker. In October 1993, he would begin full-time as a crew worker at the Louisiana maintenance facility. Over the next few years, Terry would be promoted up to a maintenance crew leader at the Bowing Green maintenance facility, the position from which he retired.
After retirement, Terry is hoping to run for public office.
“I have enjoyed my career at MoDOT and serving the community through our work, and I want to continue to do this in the years to come,” he said. “I also want to thank my family for sharing their lives with MoDOT for the last 21 years,” he added. “I couldn’t have done it without them!”
Terry and his wife Lisa currently reside in Bowling Green. Their three children also live in the Bowling Green area: Kelly Carroll and her husband David, Kyle Burris and his wife Erin, and Kris Burris and his wife Deanna. Terry and his wife have also been blessed with eight grandchildren.
