•Republicans of Pike County will meet on Jan. 2 at the Faith Baptist Church in Louisiana. The meeting will begin with a carry-in supper followed by a business meeting. Gale-Griffith Frolos, new club president, will conduct the meeting. Anyone who would like to come is always welcome.
• On Saturday, Jan. 4, there will be a fundraising Belgian Waffle Breakfast held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 517 South Carolina Street in Louisiana. All-you-can-eat homemade Belgian waffles, two sausages, juice, milk, and coffee will be served for $7. Children ages 10 and under eat for just $3.50. Please note: Previously this event has been held on Sunday mornings, but it is being held on Saturday in January.
• St John’s Episcopal Church in Eolia will have Evensong services on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 3 p.m.
St John’s is located on Route H, about a mile from Route D.
•Pike-Lin Quilters workday Monday Jan. 6 at 9 a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Clarksville, the group will be cleaning the closets. Attendees should bring a sack lunch.
