Clarksville VFW busy, holiday dinner Dec. 14
The Clarksville Memorial VFW Post 4610 and Ladies Auxiliary have had a very busy month.
They held their regular meeting on Nov. 5 with Senior Vice Commander Hurley Conway and Ladies Auxiliary President Mary Tarpien presiding.
The special guests attending the meeting was District 17 Commander Ken Brummet and District 17 Ladies Auxiliary President Rowena Grigsby and husband, Paul.
Plans were made at the meeting for the annual Christmas dinner to be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 with a carry-in dinner, meat furnished by the post and auxiliary. All members and families are urged to attend.
On Nov. 8, the post and auxiliary held an appreciation supper for the donors to the Richard Cottrell VFW building renovations project and it was well attended. The Clarksville Memorial Junior Girls were there to serve the drinks on that evening.
On Nov. 11, several of the post and auxiliary members attended the Veterans’ Day services and dinner at Clopton High School.
A great program was given and a delicious meal was served. It was really appreciated what was done to honor the veterans and those currently serving their country.
They post and the auxiliary are asking all members to pay their 2014 dues by Tuesday, Dec. 31.
