Pike County OATS held its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Pike Pioneer Nutrition Center in Louisiana.
Committee members — Donna McMahan, Edna Buchanan, Barbara Phillips, Audrey Reeder and Dora Sapp — arrived early to decorate the tables.
Audrey Scher checked count as people arrived. There was a total of 34 attending.
Chairperson Donna McMahan opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary Dora Sapp read the October minutes.
Loretta Brown gave the group travel financial report and also collected money for the Dec. 6 and 11 Christmas light trips.
Jack Stumbaugh, OATS Pike County driver, gave a report on the fall foliage trip.
Jack thanked everyone for their participation with OATS in 2013.
Before the meal was served, McMahan led everyone in the Lord’s Prayer.
Under new business, Joanne Hammuck gave a report abou to Pike County being in the St. Louis Red Cross division versus the Quincy, Ill., area. She reported a committee has been established and would like our participation to try and be in the Quincy area, as the Red Cross was not here following a recent fire in Louisiana.
OATS wants to thank Pike County for the excellent meal. It was very well planned and was just like “home cooked.” There were so much positive feedback on this group of ladies and their services.
Everyone is welcome to attend OATS meetings. There will not be a meeting held in December.
