Louisiana church walk planned for Dec. 8
The Louisiana Area Historical Museum will host the 20th annual Christmas Mid-town Church Walk on Sunday, December 8.
Each walker will be given a program with a history of each church in it. There is no charge for the afteroon, but a free-will donation will be taken to benefit the Louisiana Area Historical Museum.
This event, held in conjunction with six mid-town churches, will begin at 3 p.m. at the Bethel A.M.E. Church at Sixth and Tennessee streets.
Following a 15-minute musical program, participants will walk to the First Christian Church at 517 South Carolina St.
After that program, walkers will depart for the First Baptist Church at Seventh and South Carolina streets.
After leaving the Baptist Church, participants will go across the street to Centenary United Methodist Church.
Calvary Episcopal Church at 704 Georgia St. will be the next stop with the walk concluding at 5 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 121 South Eighth St.
Warm cider and cookies will be served following that 15-minute program, which traditionally features congregational singing of Christmas carols.
