The Louisiana American Legion Post No. 370 was filled with Louisiana Alumni for the 2018 Bulldogs Athletic Hall of Fame announcements on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Four individual alumni and one team were inducted during the fun-filled night as people enjoyed catching up with one another over dinner and drinks.
The first inductee was coach Jim York.
York was a captain of the Bulldogs football team and ran track, earning all-conference honors and graduating LHS in 1960.
He also earned all-conference honors while playing college football and running track for Missouri Valley College and was later honored to be inducted into their hall of fame as well.
After kicking off his teaching and coaching career, he eventually came back to Louisiana and coached all middle school sports from 1970 to ‘71, later becoming LHS’s head coach.

The new members inducted into the Louisiana Bulldogs Athletic Hall of Fame stand around current Louisiana athletic director Ryan Griffin as he announces their names.
