2017 Municipal Election Results

Rhonda Darnell and Rhonda Harrison tally up the votes for both both sides of Pike County late Tuesday, April 4. The Louisiana R-II bond initiative passed 341-75.

 

The votes have been added up with the Louisiana R-II School District bond initiative passing, Kathy Smith winning re-election and more of the status quo.

The school bond initiative passed 341-75 with the votes breaking down in this manner: Buffalo E, 105 Yes-18 No; Buffalo C, 60 Yes-17 No; Buffalo B, 64 Yes-14 No; Buffalo D, 94 Yes-18 No; Absentee, 18 Yes-8 No.

Kathy Smith defeated Bob Jenne 45-31-1 in the Louisiana Ward II election. There was one write-in vote cast.

Louisiana Ward I was won by incumbent Nancy Evans 54-9 over write-in votes.

Brice Chandler will remain the Louisiana Ward III council representative by receiving 76 votes over three write-ins.

Louisiana Ward IV will again have Chris Koetters as its councilperson with a 106-4 win over write ins.

Current Clarksville mayor Jo Anne Smiley won re-election over write-in votes 48-5.

Sue Lindemann also re-claimed her seat as North Ward Alderman with a 29-7 victory over write-in votes.

In an unofficial count, Michael Osborne won his South Ward Alderman seat back out of the eight write-in votes cast. Osborne unofficially received four of those votes.

John Burbridge, Kathleen Watson and Barry Pfister all received one vote for the Board of Trustees for Eolia.

No one received a vote for the Paynesville Trustees. Steve Eisele, Jeremy Davis and Rosemary Capps were listed on the ballot.
